St. Paul the Apostle's Religious Education program was awarded a grant in June 2007 for religious education supplies in the amount of $2,213 from the Catholic Diocese of Pueblo Foundation.  Below shows  St. Paul's Religious Education Program in action as well as the materials purchased.
Adult Enrichment

We are continuing to explore our faith as we discuss the Sacraments and the impact they have upon us.  Deacon Steve will facilitate each session which will last about an hour.  All adults from both parishes are invited to join us. 

 
We're fishing for men and women!  Here's the bait..
  • 19 beautiful 4th graders need a catechist.  Please volunteer to catechize them.
  • 1 or 2 parishioners to do Liturgy of the Word for the children at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass.

Religious Education Registration

Religious education classes continue for Pre-School through 8th grade on Sunday mornings from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. on November 4th and 11th. To register, please call Mary Frances at 542-4264 ext. 106.

  • RE classes will resume on Sundays in December on the 2, 9 and 16th from 9:30 -10:45 a.m. for Pre-School through 8th grade
  • Parents, please check with your oldest child/teen because they will have a Family Advent folder for Advent and feast days of Mary. 

  • If your child was absent on November 18, their catechist will send it home on Sunday, December 2nd, the first Sunday in Advent.

Bible Study

Our St. Paul the Apostle Bible Study classes are continuing every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.  Presently we are studying the history of the Hebrews from Joseph to David the King.  Come join us!  ALL ARE WELCOME!

High School

High School Faith classes start in the 9th grade.  They receive 2 credits for each session they complete.  Sessions are held on Sunday's from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Our high school youth ministry program is a credit value process. 
Prior to entering into the Confirmation Preparation process our high school teens
are to complete 8 credit points
& be actively involved in the parish life & ministry program.

Credit Value Process

Sunday afternoon sessions:  2 credits per session

 

Confirmation

High School teens are to complete 8 credits before entering the confirmation process.  Candidates must be 16 years old to receive the sacrament.

Confirmation requirements To be eligible to begin the Confirmation program all high school teens must have completed 8 credits from the high school faith formation and been actively involved in a parish life & ministry the two years prior.  They must be at least 16 years old and attend all the above sessions.

Role of the Sponsor
Each candidate, with the help of his or her parents, is responsible for choosing a sponsor.  It is recommended that, if possible, the baptismal sponsor also be the confirmation sponsor. 

Church law states that the sponsor must be at least 16 years of age.  Must be fully initiated Baptized, confirmed,  received Holy Eucharist and is living according to the Catholic faith.  The sponsor may not be the mother or father of the one to be confirmed.

During the time of preparation, the sponsors are expected to take an active role in the confirmation program and meet with their candidates on a regular basis.  Each Sponsor must obtain a Sponsor Certificate from his or her own Parish (Church stamp/seal is required) stating he or she is a practicing  Catholic and eligible to be a sponsor. Forms must be turned into the Religious Education office by Oct. 28, 2007.

Role of the Parents
Parents play a primary role in the sacramental preparation program.  You help your son or daughter grow in faith as you prepare him or her for fruitful reception of the sacrament. Your attendance at required meetings and the Sunday parish celebration of the Eucharist is vital.  Assisting your son or daughter in the parish life &ministry program prior to Confirmation.  Your interest, involvement, and concern make a Difference in your son’s  or daughter’s perception of what this sacrament and Christian life are all about.
