Religious Education – General Information

St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church offers religious education from grade 1 – 8, First Reconciliation Preparation, First Communion Preparation, Confirmation preparation and a post-Confirmation morality & life skills class. Children are expected to be enrolled in religious education each year, not only in the years they receive the Sacraments of the Church.

Class meets most Sunday’s & Monday’s during the school year (see schedule). Current families were mailed a registration form on June 1. Registration forms are currently available by clicking on the link, below and in the entryway of the church.

Registration deadline is September 1st 2010 to ensure books for all students on their first class. Late registration closes completely on September 30th.

Religious Education Times (updated)
Grades 1-4 meet Mondays from 4:15 – 5:30 p.m.
Grades 5-8 meet Sundays from 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Pre-Confirmation, Confirmation I, II, and post-Confirmation meet on Sunday evening from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.

First Reconcilliation and First Communion Preparation:
MANDATORY - Parent meetings Wednesday, Sept. 8th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 3rd, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Class dates - 10/7, 10/21, 11/4, 11/18, 3/17, 3/31, 4/14, 4/28, 5/5

Future adjustments may be made due to registered enrollment.

Grades 1-8 use the Faith and Life series from Ignatius press.

Pre-Confirmation, Confirmation I, Confirmation II and Post Confirmation classes books from the Didache Series by the Midwest Theological Forum.

Catechists

We are always looking for those parishioners who feel called to serve in the catechetical ministry. Two adults are needed in each classroom. If you are interested in serving in this ministry, please contact the parish office. Background checks are required.
